Quick Tips to Prevent Algae Buildup
Scenic in a lagoon. Unsightly in your oasis. Preventing algae growth is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy pool. These tips can help you do just that:
- Regularly test/maintain sanitizer, pH levels, alkalinity and calcium hardness.
- Prevention is key, however, if you do get algae, perform a chlorine shock to kill algae and bacteria.
- Clean the filter regularly to promote proper circulation and prevent “dead spots” where sanitized water cannot reach.
- Remove leaves, twigs and other larger debris to prevent nutrient buildup.
